Con-viction

Part 1.

updated 8.3.17, 8.10.17

“Con-viction” a testimony of the life of a convict that has been locked up for 37 1/2 years since he was 26 and how God visited him and changed him into a prisoner for Christ. I have visited this prisoner several times and have spoken with him numerous times. I asked him to share the story of his life with us. It doesn’t matter how far we fall from God there is always hope thru Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

All glory to God my Father and a prisoner literally for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whose heart desirer and prayer to God that all men and women would be saved before the return of our Lord Jesus. The signs are all around us so to them that has eyes and ears to see and hear pay attention to what the Spirit of Truth is revealing to them. And for those that do not know Jesus to ask Him to be merciful and to show them how much God His Father really loved them by whatever means necessary, for I can confess He is very merciful and loving and kind Father that sometimes even His own children don’t realize until they witness a demonstration of His Spirit with power, signs and wonders. It is so much needed in the face of the darkness of deception that’s upon the whole earth at this period of time.

I will share more in just a few days with a goal of God being glorified and maybe for others not to follow the same road I took before Jesus. Maranatha

Part 2. 4/14/2016

The definition of the word convict in the Ameri-ican Heritage dictionary means: A person found guilty of a crime…on serving a prison sentence. The word conviction means: a strong opinion or belief. So I’m defining myself as a convict for Christ with a strong conviction in what I believe is the truth. This all took place on August 17, 1978 when I accepted Jesus into my heart. One of the things that I’ve learn was Christians are not “sinless” but as they mature they sin less and less. So don’t go trippen when you are literally trippen over life problems that cause you to sin. As you grow in Christ you will overcome life obstacles one by one some faster than others and some slower. And all of this is determine on what you do as a Christian in your everyday life. Lets look at a few scriptures in James 1:22. But be doers of the Word and not hearers only deceiving your own selves. Let’s say it like this: Practice what you preach or you are just fooling yourself. In Matthew 7:24-25 it states: Whoever hears these sayings of mine and does them will be like a wise man which built his house upon the rock. And when the rain descended and the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house it fell not down for it’s foundation was on a rock. Just think of it this way: When you put to practice what you read trails and tests will come but if you stay in faith eventually you will get the results of what you are believing God for.

Matthew 4:4…. it is written: Man shall not live by bread alone but every word that comes out of the mouth of God. Just as you need food for your body for physical strength you need the word of God for your spiritual strength. I’m sure if I would have been this way 64 years ago I would not be in this predicament today. So I decided to reminisce over my life and let you in on the good, the bad, and the ugly. And when this is over in which it is never really over, you know what I mean you will see that God had His hand on my life even in this to give me the opportunity to come back to Him see all have went astray but to tell and show you that He is the loving Father that you never knew. So let us begin by looking back.

THE GOOD…I can remember everything from the age of 4 when grandma took my little brother and I to church down at the in of our street n Cleveland name Bryant a Pentecostal Denomination. Proverbs 22:6 Raise up a child in the way they should go and when they get older they want forget it. Was God word true and did this come to pass, we will see. So I do remember mamma sending us to church on Easter and at Christmas time. One day I was playing tag football n the street with some friends I was about 14 and for no reason I look up to the sky and a thought came to my mind and I said, there has got to be a God. Psalms 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmaments shows His handy work. Before I graduated from Glenville High School I was in this singing group and the school would put on talent shows. I took drafting as my major and got in to this pilot program they offered where you could go to classes a half a day and the other half to work for the employer that hirer you. So I got hired at this Commercial Engineering Firm as a mechanical draftsman. I was the first African American they had ever hired. I didn’t know it but the favor of God was with me. You see while I was doing the pilot program I had drop out of one of my classes and in up having to make it up by going to summer school or I wouldn’t be able to graduate. I also couldn’t miss three class days or you would fell the class and I had already missed two. Well I got myself in to some trouble driving a stolen car and the police spotted me and pulled me over, when they got out of the car two come talk to me so I floored it and the chase began. I had been drinking a shorty wine cooler and had smoked a joint so I  pulled the car over and jump out running. I ran through this back yard and got to the fence and wine kicked in and I got dizzy wanting to throw up so I lean on the fence and fell over it and call out to God. I never forgot what I said: God my mother is going to kill me if I don’t graduate, I’II never steal another car again, please help me. The next thing I heard was a female voice calling my name and said: hurry up come over here or the police is going to catch you. So I leaned back on the fence and fell over it again and crawled to her back house door and went in seen a bucket and through up in it. When I look up and seen her I than recognize who she was a classmate from one of my classes. She ask why was the police chasing me and I lied and told her my uncle loan me a car and it was stolen. 2 b continue… 🙂

Con-viction continues… so she’s telling me as she went to check that the police is knocking on the neighbors doors to see if anybody saw where I went. Than about a hour later this teenager dude came in to the house and I knew him from school also and here it is that they are brother and sister so I told him the same thing of what happen. Than later on a lady came into the house who they told me was their mother. When she seen me she said, do u know I seen you running from the police just before I got off the bus so when I got off I seen them drawing their guns out to shoot at you but I hollered and said, don’t you shoot down their with all those kids playing. So I stayed their until it got dark and while there I found out that they were Jehovah Witnesses. So around 11:00 pm I call a friend to come pick me up and I made it to the rest of my classes and graduated August of 1970.

By the way God knew my mama would had killed me literally if I wouldn’t have graduated so He saved me (smile) Food for thought for those that maybe have a problem with the Jehovah Witnesses God had mercy on me and used them to save me from being shot by the police could of been dead and in hell back then and He let me know He heard grandma prayers to save my son so u may not know all that God be doing behind the scenes just stay open and you will find out in life that God is doing a whole lot of things we do not know about just give Him the glory for so much mercy and grace He has on us. Never ever wish a place called hell for your worst enemy for God wants all to be SAVED! 2 b continue…

Con-viction continues…and on this note Isaiah 55:8-9 says My thoughts are not your thoughts neither are your ways My ways said the Lord and as the heaven are higher than the earth so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. So who can know the mind of God at any given time but what will end up happening is you will blow your mind trying to figure Him out if you go there. So stay humble and be like Job 1:22 in all this Job sinned not nor blamed God for what was happening to him. Sometimes I say about things I don’t understand God you be tripping and then laugh because that is what I be thinking He’s doing. Okay so after I graduated I started working fulltime at the firm and the president took to liking me I like to dress so he notice it and that started conversation about clothes and shoes. So while working 8 to 5 on the weekends our singing group,The Epics, had shows booked in different night clubs around the city and our name started to get some notice and we had a little following when we would go do shows. I did learn a lot working there and went to several different company parties for the product they wanted your firm to contract with them about so while they are advertising their wares you also got to eat all kinds of food and drink different brands of wine and alcohol so you left full and tipsy . Isn’t that a good way to get you to buy their product.

Also while there, I did notice that instead of drawing the plans of the building down on paper I would of rather been out their on the construction site building it because I always like to build things. When I was around 15 I entered the Soap Box Derby and build my first one and you had to purchase your wheels at the Chevy dealership… 2 b continue
